1. Is there a neighborhood where most Indian people live? No and yes! There is just a 38 miles driving distance from one end of Saraosta to the other end of Manatee. The Indian community is spreadout throughout the area and your Indian friend might just be living within a 15-20 minute of driving distance. However, Arbor lakes and Red Hawk Reserve in Saraosta has lots of Indian families living in one neighborhood since most of the kids go to Pine View School . 2. How far is the nearest house of worship? Tampa is the nearest place where you can find all major religious institutions and depending on where you live, average driving time to Tampa from Manatee -Sarasota is around less than an hour. 3. What is the average age of people that live here? Great question!! You will find people of all ages here like anywhere else in the world. However, a lot of families with young kids have moved here from different parts of the country,in the past 2-3 years, predominantly to Lakewood Ranch. New schools are being built and housing market is booming in Lakewood Ranch owing to the influx of young families. Are they mostly Indians? No. Who doesn't like warm weather, white sandy beaches and green trees? So get ready to meet a lot of new families ,just like yourself! 4. Will I be able to make friends easily? We will be your friend ! The members of the Indian Association meet on a regular basis for events and festivals at least 3-4 times a year. Come join us, meet new people and we will try our best to introduce you and your family to everyone! You will make friends at work, your kids will make friends at school and then their parents will become your friends, And then, obviously, you have us ! 5. Which school is the best? There isn't any one correct answer to that question. If you have a particular school in mind, send us an email and we will try to get you in touch with a parent whose kid go to that particular school and hopefully they will be able to answer your questions. 6. Is there an Indian grocery store? Yes!!! There are a couple all within a 20-25 minute of driving distance irrespective of where you are living . Like our Facebook page (Indian Association of Manatee Sarasota) and you will find a couple of names of grocery stores, restaurants etc. All said and done, HOME IS ,WHERE THE HEART IS !! Hopefully you will find your home soon! We look forward to seeing you and welcoming you to our area, we call home.❤
